The Magnificent Seven. Good versus evil - few against many. A great cast: Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, Eli Wallach, James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Brad Dexter, Horst Buchholz. Horses, guns - what a movie!

Pan's Labyrinth. Fauns, fairies, rebels. It effects your soul in a way that no other movie can. Not to mention it also scares you to death. I was haunted by the Pale Man. But it's a marvelous movie, the best one I've ever seen.

banquet. zhang ziyi's character is in the middle of protagonist and antagonist. her actions are both for the good and for the bad. she'll do anything to keep her position intact, even if it means killing the king.
the colors are so stark. red is the most vibrant. it may mean two things: blood for death -- the death of the king and the death of her former husband.. red for love -- zhang ziyi's love for the son of her husband, which she loves.
