It seems questionable that for the past decade the season seems to have a Cinderella ending? Publicity seems to be the maiin priority with the League and the best way to make income is with creating plotts. After 911 the Patriots beat the Steelers to win the Super Bowl, last year the Steelers won- Bettis' career ended dreamlike and they also had the biggest comeback in NFL season history. Finally, this is the year to not only have the first black head coach to contend but win. I need to admit that I'm a huge Steelers fan and last year was dreamlike. However, it seem too far fetched.

Players have been tempted by the bookmaker. Several star players of the 1950s-1960s were known to have gambled, and some to have fixed games. Bookmaker/Gambler Don Dawson has admitted that during those two decades, he had personally been involved in fixing no fewer than 32 NFL games.

You do raise truly valid points, but I am not a big conspiracy fan. However, after seeing so many calls (and blatant non- calls) by some officials, it sometimes does make one think.
The officials, like it or not, can control the flow of any game- any time that they want to.
I've followed football for many years and I have to honestly say that this 2006 season was the worst year for officiating that I can remember.

Well, first off, the Pats beat the Rams in the Super Bowl after 9/11. And the Saints were the 'feel good story' of the year, and yeah, they kind of lost. And your question doesn't make much sense. The Pats winning was a coincedence, Bettis wasn't really hinting retirement in the early-going of the season, and there was bound to be a black head coach in the Super Bowl sooner or later, so your suspicions are...well, stupid.

GREAT!!!! Somebody else besides me thinks so... I'm a Saints fan.. And this season seamed almost too good if you know what I mean...All the media was reporting about before this week was the Saints, katrina, Rita, and the Like...... But this week was MLK day and then it became focsed on the black coaches... ANYBODY who watched the Refs in the NFC game could see that they wanted it to go the bears way.... and the comeback by the Colts...... Now they have what they wanted... 2 black coaches in the SB.... One of them HAS to win it... I Can't belive that the NFL has stuped to this level.... And that makes me wonder about the Saints Season myself.... I hope I'm wrong, and if I am, Watch out next year, cause the Saints have tasted glory for the first time in 40 years, they will be out to get it like never before...(((((IF I'M WRONG)))))

If the NFL was rigged the cowboys and the raiders would be playing in the Superbowl. These 2 teams sell more merchandise than all of the other teams put together.

Yeah, I've heard that rumor about the NFL being rigged. Sometimes it may seem that way, but we have very talented athletes and they are prone to do something spectacular at the very end, when it's needed. That's why is pro football/basketball...etc. It's the best of the best competing against each other. Two competitive teams means a very interesting outcome!

It seems that way because some players get fatigued. Sometimes key players on a leading team gets tired while the key players on the other team are still "in the game", which makes for last second come from behind wins.

Had it been rigged, they would have gotten the feel-good story, the Saints, into the Super Bowl.
And how do you get that the Steelers had the "biggest comeback in NFL season history"?

No way. There are too many players in the nfl to have it be rigged. Alot of them it is there dream to win a superbowl. Most of them cant even get along with their coach, i doubt they would listen to someone telling them to lose a game. Its just too hard to rig an entire sport.

It's controlled!! Of course it is. Sports involve a lot of money...this year's story was either:
1. Saints vs Colts: Manning vs his daddy's old team
2. Bears vs Colts: Two black head coaches in the SB (History)
3. Bears vs Patriots: Re-match
I guess Bears vs Colts won the challenge
Saints would've never won today because there was too much money laid on them (Saints +3).

You guys shouldnt be so hard on the guy, never say never. I doubt that there is any "rigging" going on, however you cant rule out that is is possible for refs to win or lose a game......so you never know.
