I added pure ammonia on Monday (Jan. 15) I have not seen any nitrites yet. I am also not seeding my tank. When will I start to see nitrites around?

You won't see nitrite for at least 1-2 weeks.

You could see nitrites any day now but you might want to seed it just in case the tap is void of any bacteria because of chlorine.

You need to have the proper bacteria to get the cycle going. Without seeding, useing a commercial starter, or having fish this could take a while:

you should be seeing the break down any day now. It usually takes a week and a half to two weeks.
