there seems to be lot fear of getting help, talk about how you over came that. also talk about the myths that go a long with cutting. talk about why you started. what was the braking one for you to stop cutting? I'm not sure but I'd assume that there is chance of getting sick from this if you use anther persons tool or used one that was unclean. talk about how you deal with your triggers. . talk about the guilt that you feel from the pain you cause your family. talk about how you've had to re-build trust with people that you love the most. did you have any friends that were cutter that inspired you to do so to your self? if so talk about how hard it was to not be a friend with them. there is so much you could talk. these a just some idea in a random order. i hope they help give you some ideas. just be true to you and the right things will come out.(aka don't say anything that you don't believe your self)

I am a Mutilator, but not a cutter. It sounds gross but I pop my zits. Being raised around the elements I was I was afraid to be pretty so I started. Thirteen years later I have scars practically from head to toe and people judge me before they get to know me... This in turn depresses me and triggers the urge to do it again. The longest I have gone in 13 years without is 2 weeks. I wish I never would have started. If I would have known that this was the result I would have found another way to hide. I guess I don't know what I would say to anyone else, but I would pray for them.

I'd try to focus more on the negative feelings and emotions(anger, depression, fears, anxieties, resentments, etc.) that drive the act of cutting or self-mutilation. Then maybe compare "cutting" to other destructive behaviors like drugs and alcohol, shallow promiscuous sex, excessive masturbation, over-eating, shopping, etc., that everyone can relate to as a source of stress relief in combating negative emotions and poor, exaggerated self-image.
You may then want to tie this in with John, chapter four, "the woman at the well," who was seeking after worldly things and empty relationships that could never satisfy her innermost longings. Only after her encounter with Jesus, the true Source of " living water," did she fully understand the healthy way to fill the "hole in her soul."

When I was a teen, no one had ever done "self mutilation". Maybe it was just so hush-hush no one talked about it or maybe no one was foolish enough to try it.
When I hear about people who self-mutilate, the very first thing I always ask myself is, "why?"
When God made each and every human being unique and extraordinary out of His pure love for us, I can't imagine what would possess a person to want to ruin such a beautiful creation.
It's like the ultimate insult to Him...he is perfect and made us perfect in His eyes and to ruin that..? It's a shame.
Maybe this didn't answer your question and for that I apologize but, It is the truth and we should all remember, Jesus was mutilated tortured pierced and KILLED for ALL so that WE may LIVE!

It's the only body that they have - why mutilate it? Besides, our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Do they want the Holy Spirit to reside in a mutilated abode? Would they want their own homes to be mutilated?
