Can anyone explain the ending of "Without a Trace?"?

That was a weird ending. They found her burried up to her neck and showed a shovel. Then the show went off. Someone enlighten me.

I think the shovel had something to do with Sam...remember she was getting weird flashbacks (the girl swinging the shovel looked like Sam...at least she had blonde hair?). I think maybe Sam did something she regrets too. That's just my opinion...I asked my dad and he thinks it had nothing to do with Sam haha...so? anyways...it was a good episode :)

Im a little confused too, not only did they show a shovel it was Samantha swinging the shovel, wasnt it?
