Will i be ok without a car? Any ideas on the best places to start out making good cash? I have some money saved but ill need to start making money right when i get there. I would appreciate anyone who has some helpful information for me.

Cathy gave you some good advice: Check the web site of most LV hotels, if they have jobs available they will be listed. You can fill out an application online.

One of the best casino corporations to work for is Station. If you want some advice(good?) go to school, get your degree, learn the casino games and a 2nd or more languages. With that combination you can go a long ways in the casino industry.

You really don't need a car, the CAT(bus) will take you anywhere in the valley. The cost for a 30 day bus pass is $40.

for apartments, check rent.com or pick up a copy of the Sunday Las Vegas Review Journal at a local book store. There are some nice new apartment complexes going up in south LV , just off LV Blvd South(strip), a couple of miles south of the main hotel cluster. I did some looking while I was there in December, a 1br in that area runs around $600.

When I moved to Las Vegas, I got there Friday afternoon, had a great weekend, and found a job on Monday. You can find good paying jobs there, but there are also some that are not so good. Keep in mind the best tipping jobs are those that people have worked for a while, and are not likely to give up. You gotta start at the bottom for those.
Around 75% of jobs have to do with tourism, so if you are service oriented, you can probably do well. Check with some of the larger casinos. I found a job in security that paid very well. Stick with the major hotels and you should be fine. Also, you will have to get a gaming card from the police department. And a Nevada drivers license. You will be okay with no car because there are thousands of taxis, but you will need a car at some point. Its tough to work near the strip without living there. You won't want to do too much walking until you get used to the heat.
Have fun and good luck.

From what I hear from friends who live there - it's not easy getting a job in one of the hotels on the Strip, unless you have prior hotel experience. If you don't have hotel experience, apply at one of the outlying hotels and start there for a few months.

All the casino's have web site where you can apply for work. That is how most if not all of them want you to apply.

You can live there with out a car. They have busses and cabs.

Good Luck.
