It use to be that way, shoot if ya did get pulled over all ya needed was a 10.00 bill lol but they had to conform to fed hwy rules... I lived in Somers Montana for years it is on hwy 93 North of Missoula... 2 lane hwy... use to flat cruise at altitude in my 66 Ford pickup lol sadly there are posted speed limits...

It was true for a short while. They had to go back to posting a limit because they had a difficult time enforcing the "Reasonable and Prudent" law.

LOL!!! I know what you mean about FORDS!!! That's why I drive a Chevy!! :-)

that was quite a few years ago that they did not have a speed limit but thanks to some kind of testing by the makers of BMW Montana has since passed speed limits as a result.

not everywhere, but only on some designated highways.

I especially like Nevada where on some roads the speed limit says " drive as fast as you can control your vehicle & according to the conditions"

Oops, it's seems like they took the rule out in 1999:

But anyways, if you really want to drive fast without a speed limit, then go to Germany & drive on the Autobahn.

Used to be true, not anymore. They had to put one in to abide by federal law. Used to be "reasonable speed" but you could still be busted for driving too fast for conditions.
