They know how to measure baby to see how many weeks you are. I would trust what OB said. For due date: http://www.due-date-calculator.com/

I just turned 40 and have two daughters both of which became pregnant in May '06. I had an argument with my daughter about this and had to look it up. When she told me how far along she was I explained that it was impossible for her to be 8 weeks when she wasn't even that far from her last cycle. She said that's what the doctor told her. After researching I found that in the Ob/GYN and related fields that they automatically ADD 2 weeks onto to your pregnancy for the sake of their own terminology and base their calculations the same. I believe it's possible that is what is with your case. As far as your due date? I think that you can punch in the first day of your last menstrual cycle and the calculator(they're all already taking into account that two week factor) will give you a relatively accurate due date. Congrats, by the way, I just found out last night I'm pg as well, however, I know my cycle was 3 weeks ago so I realize that I am considered to be 5 weeks pg in the calculation department. Good luck, hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy!

In the two pregnancies I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and could desire to work out the embryo and the midsection beating on the demonstrate screen. when I miscarried final 12 months I had no cramps or recognizing in any respect, merely the infant had stopped springing up. there is an danger that no embryo had shaped on account that they could no longer see it, or maybe it grow to be undesirable positioning with the ultrasound. there's no telling till your next ultrasound, so attempt to sit down down back and not subject. sturdy luck!

I would go by with what the ultrasound said. What they did was they measured your uterus, so that gets the exact size of it, and tells you how far along you are.
That happened to me, I thought I was 9 weeks pregnant but the ultrasound revealed I was 6 weeks, so thats a big difference.

Yes go with the ultrasound. The doctor guesses by the date you gave her of your last period but on the ultrasound they actually measure the fetus and can tell more exact how far along you are.

the ultrasound is an average... with a week before and a week after... for example... if it said you are 8 weeks then it's an average of 7 - 9 weeks. If you know the first day of your last period you can use a conception calculator... it will give you the probable day of conception and due date. Usually these are within a five day range, not a two week average. http://www.genetree.com/resource/conceptionCalculator.php#ccView

yes because they only guess when you conceived from your last period the ultra sound goes by weight and development. i was only supposedly about 21/2 to 3 months pregnant for my first ultrasound but when they did the ultrasound they found i was actually 4 1/2 months. they told me i must have gone on my period once while i was pregnant.

I would think that the US would be more correct especially earlier on, the 6 wks was just a date estimate based of you last period.

ultrasound is the most accurate unless you know your exact date of conception. pregnancy is 40wks so your due date will be 31wks &6 days from your ultrasound date.
