I am trying to find a gift or two.....whats the BEST gift you received when pregnant, or what would you most WANT or NEED during pregnancy? Or whats the nicest thing to give an unborn baby?
Thanks for all answers!

Thanks for all the answers so far! I am a mum of 2 myself, so I know what is NEEDED, but I was thinking more along the lines of really unique gifts that people have gotten. Some thing a pregnant woman wouldn't really buy for herself but would be nice to have.

I would have to say that the best gift I ever got was a womb bear. I didn't even know about these until a friend gave me one and the bear makes the sound like the moms womb and I can say that was over a year ago and still to this day my daughter likes to have it turned on before she goes to sleep.
Other than that I would have to say Dippers and wipes a new mom can never have enough of them.

Being a librarian I look for copies of some of my favorite children's books to give as gifts. Other gifts I've given are homemade photo albums with a babyish theme, a diaper bag with bottles, bibs, onesies, recieving blankets, diapers, wipes, baby bath, baby powder, etc.
A good idea is to check with the expectant mother and see what her needs are. If you're attending a surprise shower, you can check with whoever is hosting it and see if you can find out what others might be bringing or what else the new mom could use.

Here are some of my favorite baby things from each price range
*A baby health kit $10-$20 nose sucker, nail clipers, medcine dropper, these kits have it all
*A boppy-$20-$30 this pillow is a gift from above
*An exersaucer -$40-$60 keeps babies busy
*Fisher Price ocean wonders mobile-$40 it plays music, it projects lighted shapes on the ceiling, it's cute and fun. AND IT HAS A REMOTE!! :)
*Stroller - $70-$200 it's a must have
*A glidder chair-$100-$400 No better place to cuddle your baby
Hope this helps. I couldn't live without any of these things. As long as you put some love into your gift I am sure the Mama and baby will love it :) Good luck

My aunt got me a laundry basket full of things to clean clothes, a blanket, baby laundry soap, diapers (a fav), and a diaper gene. I got a lot of diapers which was nice It seemed like everyone wanted to buy clothes. If you want to go that route by bigger sizes like 6m and make sure it's weather appropriate for 6m from now. trust me she'll more than appreciate it. Everyone else will buy things 0-3m size. A really cute thing to buy that I used a ton of were PJ's and the cut little booties. I always buy something cute and a gift card for like walmart. Even like $10 bucks, then you get the fun of picking something out and they've got $10 to buy something they need and didn't get!

Is the person registered? I find that I want and need most of what I registered for.. otherwise a homemade quilt is always nice. I still have 2 that my mom got at her baby shower for me. I am going to use them with my baby... all other things are gone!

A day off for the mother, during the last phase of prenancy go to her house one day, and clean, do laundry, take a couple of people with you have her sit with her feet up, while you do her housework and any running that she needs done, just one day of this would be such a complete treat.

Probably the best thing I ever received was a baby monitor. I could put her in the crib and go downstairs and not worry that she might be crying or uncomfortable or whatever and I wouldn't know it.
