Im stuck between an Apple Macbook Pro and a Sony Vaio SZ. The problem is they both cater to my needs and in term of price they both are almost identical. Macbook im trying to buy runs windows via Bootcamp and im also able to install Parallels Desktop and run virtual desktop hence being able to run Windows inside of OSX. What do you guys think? Which is the better of the two? Which one will help me more. I'm a software engineering student and also edit photos and do the normal things like Watch and Burn Movies, Photos and all that. So please help me im kind of stuck between the two now.

Take a look at both notebooks. Keep in mind the hard drive size, the processor, the overall thickness and performance, the capabilities, and the ports (USB, FireWire, etc.). Personally I'd say take the Macbook- it has the 6- pin FireWire, and it has a 200GB hard drive. I think it also has illuminated keys, which would be awesone for typing in the dark.

Lady, on the MAC side, just get the largest hard drive that you can plus an external hard drive case that lets you exchange hard drives.

On the Windows side, forget about brand names! Go to any web site that will allow you to configure your laptop, .i.e. select larger faster hard drives, EX. 120GB SATA, turning at 7200RPM.
Many laptops come with 5200RPM hard drives. Too and SATA is better than the standard IDE hard drive.

You want DUAL core processors, Intel has the lead in CPU performance right now! AMD is excellent if cost is a factor.
System memory is another factor, you want at least 2GB.

DVD Burner not DVD ROM

USB ports, IEE ports, Sound/mic, Card Reader, Screen size.

External hard drive cage with 250GB or more SATA hard drive.

Graphics card, not motherboard graphic chip, called (On board
graphics) - CPU has to do all the graphic work, Graphic card has its own graphics CPU. (Better Graphics & increase system performance)

Both on board net work card and wireless network ready.

Either of these system will more than meet your requirements.

Add good speakers and a TV turner card to your system and you can watch TV on your computer.

If you can afford it the clear choice is the Macbook Pro.

If that were me the only thing I would need is a 2 button mouse as an addition to it.
