I've heard a lot of things and Google doesn't help me with this answer... So, is Vigilante legal, or illegal?

it depends on whether they break the law or not also security is a form of vigilante but under govt controls and they are legal as long as they abide by policy... In most states and countries there is policy that awards registration and sets standards.Hope this helps some but I'm not sure where you can get further info or for what exactly you might want it.neighborhood watches and guardian angels usually are in cooperation with the local authorities.

definitely illegal to go after wanted criminals. You can go after bail jumpers. Dog The Bounty Hunter.
