I believe you are referring to the porn industry's long-standing (no pun intended) tradition of making porns loosly based on hit movies. Previous Adult hits include: Gonad the Ballbarian, When Harry Wet Sally...and who could forget the timeless classic day time drama.. Lays of our Lives.
To the best of my knowledge, this one is an exception as there is no offshoot in prodcution with the main Chatsworth studios as of today. If the idea really 'spins your crank', then perhaps a petition would be in order... but just the thought of seeing Paul Newman in an adult film.... CREEEEEPY!
