Love it, or hate it? Why?
I love it and see my self living there some day. I like the people, attractions, cities, natural landscape, diversity thereof, diversity of cultures, warm weather (except when it's scolding during the summer.) Not to mention, the Texas pride and heritage is unmistakeable.
BTW, I live in Kentucky (which contributed greatly in the Alamo,) but feel associated with Texas at heart.

I have lived here all of my life. You are right about the diversity. It is a great place for that but there is still a lot of prejudice here as well. Texas is now a state that has more Hispanics than caucasions. Which is fine with me because I grew up on Mexican food (grew up in El Paso). Different parts of the state are different. I now live in Lubbock which is about 300 miles from anywhere, the land is flat and we have terrible dirt storms in the spring. It is the Bible belt though which makes it a great place to raise children (unlike El Paso). My favorite part of the state is the San Antonio/Austin area. So much to do and so much history. Does get very hot and humid in the summer though. I would not mind living in one of the outlying areas of San Antonio. Come on down. We even have a few places you can go to listen to some blue grass music.

I Really like Texas it is a beautiful place, I love all the horse ranches, I have visited there a few times, and I always have fun, however I also miss the mountains when I am there as I am from Western Maryland and home of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

Love Texas. Love the people, the heat, the dust storms, the land. Love the Alamo - all my heroes died there. Hate those Texas spiders, though. Those suckers are huge and hairy, and one night while I was sleeping, I was awakened by the strangest sound. Discovered it was one of those "everything is bigger in Texas" spiders walking across my carpeted floor. Now that is the stuff nightmares are made of...I am a South Carolina gal, and I still love Texas.

I love Texas!!! I still think of it as my adopted home state. I drove for a trucking company years ago that was based in Ft. Worth. When I was with them,I went all over the state. Just about anything you could want can be found in the Lone Star state.
..and I live in KY too (The western part)
Oh.....And Texas gave us George W. Bush and George Straight.........gotta love it!! :-)

I think it's funny that the Alamo is something to be proud of. "Yeehaw, we stole a bunch of land from Mexico and called it ours!" As far as Texas, America could do without her. They think they're all that anyway, like everything is bigger and better out there. Yeah, right. All of you Texas lovers can have it. Uh oh, did I just mess with Texas?!

There is no middle ground with Texas. Either you love it or you hate it. I lived there for two years and hated every minute of it. I hated the weather, the people, the guns, the monotonous sameness of it all, the lack of culture, the lack of anything interesting at all.
