i like your style with satriani, but my personal favorite is dimebag darrell. i say that because first i love pantera, and second he was such a revolutionist in the art of soloing in his genre of music. words can't even describe what he did. he did so many amazing things that nobody had ever done before. he was amazing. RIP Dime.

Jimi Hendrix for his amazing improvisation
Jimmy Page for his speed
Duane Allman for being the best slide player ever
Eric Clapton for being able to do all of the above and have the best wrist vibrato ever (listen to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" it's a Beatle's song but he did the solo.)

BB King isn't really considered "rock" but I would want to see him on a list of all time Guitar Gods
Just a few more names to think about - Carlos Santana, Johnny A, Stevie whatever.

Hendrix.
if you're talking about people that are still alive, I like J. Mascis. His songs were a little weird, but he's an amazing soloist.

I think David Gilmour of Pink Floyd was/is a very underrated guitar player and he's probably my favorite.....his sound seems unique.
