A great album to start with would be the soundtrack to Purple Rain. Last years album was OK but if you want to start with tunes you probably heard before go back to his early stuff with the Revolutions.

Prince is a musical genius! He's been making music since 1979. His first hit single was ''Soft and Wet'' from his first album called ''For You''. His second album or C.D. exploded him into superstardom with hits like ''sexy dancer,still waiting, and I wanna be your lover''. Purple Rain won him his first Grammys and a Oscar! He has written over a 1000 songs, and has produce hit music for other successful artist. He has mastered every major musical instrument used in popular music.
