First of all, I don't mean to offend anyone. I am kind of a philisophical person and I like reading and figuring out why something happens. Homosexuality has been with us forever, their's stories of it in the bible, stories of it with the greeks, and stories of it everywhere else(Especially with the Romans). But why does this happen?

I can tell you I have never desired to be with another man, and I want to know why a man would want to be with another man? I do not believe that it is normal, nor do I condone it either. People will do what people will do, as long as you're not killing someone or robbing someone, I don't care what you do. But I don't believe it is normal and I want to know if their is some kind answer.

1. Has someone been homosexual from birth?
2. Does some kind of trauma make a person homosexual?
3. Does some kind of hatred or separation from the parents, (Particularly the daughter from the mother, or Son from the father) have something to do with it?

Wondering :P

I believe all your interest in the subject correlates to you being a closet flamer.

Isaw a peice on this very question on 60 min.
they think that there is an amino acid in the womb that can make a child gay.
sounds weird I know but why would someone choose to be ridiculed their whole life.
I don't think a trauma explains it.
And seperation from the father from the daughter usually leads to the daughter being more likely to not bond with men well.
Myself ; I could care less if someone is homosexual, their a person just like everyone else.
Live and let live.

When we are born, our brains are wired in a certain way. Some men are attracted to shapely blondes or brunettes...some men prefer large boobs, small boobs, larger women, and believe it or not older women, or children...we are wired that way. Likewise some people are attracted to people of the same sex. It defies logic, I know, but so does sex with children.

I hesitate to call homosexuality "normal" because it does not result in offspring, and sex without offspring, is kind of pointless. That said, homosexuality is not strictly about sex...like heterosexuality, it is best when the people truly love each other. Love is a universal glue that binds people together. For a grown man or woman to sexualize a child, is neither normal nor acceptable in any known society on Earth. Our behaviours, as with our talents and tastes, are wired into our brains and as such are part of our genetic makeup. Some of these unacceptable tendancies can be reduced through therapy and training but nevertheless, these behaviours have been recorded for thousands of years.

Homosexuality is a psychological condition (I don't want to say disease, as it might offend some people...). This "condition" is usually developed during childhood for different reasons. The most important is having an important amount of contact with the opposite sex and therefore developing a kind if "inertia" towards them. When puberty hits and the hormones go crazy, the individual is looking for an outlet - something that will "magnetize" his energies in the right direction. Since he or she has already developed inertia to the opposite sex, the only other choice left is to be attracted to the same sex.

There are other reasons as well... but it's too long to go into here. There is enough substantial evidence that homosexuality is primarily a psychological condition. Sometimes it is so sever that it even affects the DNA structure, and it's effects can even be seen on the genes.

No offence taken. We are here to ask questions, are we not?

If a person is homosexual, it is totally normal for them. I am just naturally attracted to women in the same way as you.

I would say I was homosexual from birth although I didn't realise it until I was 14. As funny as it sounds, it just never occurred to me. I had never known anyone who was homosexual. I saw 2 girls kiss and it was like a slap in the face. I realised why I was so different.

I have always wondered why people are gay. Nobody would choose to be gay - we just are

There are instances of Homosexuality/Trans-sexuality in the animal kingdom.
There are children who exhibit a preference for the same sex from a very young age.
There are people who are sexually traumatized as children who are heterosexual, homosexual, or bi-sexual.
I think your third question is not worth answering.
Why, if you've "never desired to be with a man" do you care if/why any other man would desire that?
I think Homosexuality is 'taboo', and thus titillating for some folks.
It shouldn't be any more important to you than what I did last night in bed with my husband.

If you are gay, you know! That's all there is to it. You say your not, because you know it. Works the same for everybody! Easy as that!! Simple huh, but so many people make a big deal about it. But how many of the people that complain are even effected by it in any way, other than to gossip or preach against it. I'm straight, always have been. My sister in law is gay, Always has been. Although she tried to deny it because religion and family "Morals" insisted she couldn't be. But she is and that's that. Easy huh!

Not "normal" as in "typical" but "natural" as occuring in nature. They are born that way and it has to do with hormones.
