I run a trade publication that is a very popular industry title. However I am very interested in some limited newsstand coverage, in specialty locations.

This is about exposure, not profit. However I'm looking for somebody who understands the industry standard to offer some advice.

I have a retailer who has asked me to give them an offer as to what percentage we want. My subscription price is $35 annually and the cover price is $3.95

Thanks!

The old rule of thumb in publishing is that your subscription income pays for the cost of printing and distributing your publication. Advertising should cover the cost of producing it, including the editorial content.
