I think you should be honest with her. If she is a true friend she would understand hon. Lying to your friend about this to try and get out of it will eventually back fire in your face. If your friend was in this situation would you like it if she lied to you?
As I said, be honest with her! Just let her know how uncomfortable you are about going with that guy. If she doesn't understand, then I think she isn't a good friend. Good Luck hon!

Well, to tell the truth, i hate dances too, and if a guy were to ask me, i would definitally say no, but in your case, u should tell her thst u dont want to go to the dance. If she is truly you friend, then she should understand that. Tell her that, so maybe she should feel guilty. Sound really sad about it, and go pouting off. That always works. As for this guy, say politly . .. No. GL!

This depends on how old you are.... if you are in high school or younger you can do this...
My mom always said if there was something my friends were pressuring me into, that i didnt want to do, to say that she (or my dad) said that i couldnt do it. That way your parent looks like the bad guy and you can act like you are pissed at them (: This way your friends cant really get mad at you cuz its not your fault! Its your moms!
or else you can just stick up for yourself! a true friend would never make you do something you dont want to do..... but that solution isnt as easy as blaming your mom (:
hope this helps!

I wouldn't think of an excuse. Go to her and tell her straight up how you feel. If she's really your friend, she wouldn't be pushing you into doing something you don't want to do.

Tell her that a family event has come up like a birthday party. That always works for me.

just tell her and if she has problem with it then it's her problem not yours.
maybe she try to match you up with her friend and she already promised him that you would go to the dance with him, that's why she got really pissed off when you told her that you didn't want to go.
but whetever it is, that is still her problem not yours so don't worry to much.
no one should tell you what to do!

we all dislike confrontation, but your friend isn't respecting your wishes. tell her how you honestly feel. if she gets mad at you, tell her she is being immature and disrespectful of your feelings. remember friends are suppose to lift each other up...not make them feel like crap. especially when it comes to guys/dating.

tell her you will go, then that morning call her and tell her that you might not make it,that your stomach hurts, and then call her later and tell her that you are really sick, puking, etc. if she still wants you to go, even if you are "sick", then does she really care about you?
