Well it might be that you have a million videos or movie clips. If not, you should just run scan disk and it will probably clear out a little bit of space. Just look through your programs and see which one's you really need. You may just need a new harddrive or another one. It's hard to say without looking at the computer, but just take a look at your start menu and try to find all your major programs. That is probably what is taking up most of the room.

Try running scandisk, widows may be reporting your free space wrong. Goto My Computer, rightclick harddrive, select properties, select tab tools, scandisk

Here download this utility : WinDirStat.
It will show you in a 2d graphical image which directories are taking the most space on your hard drive, that way you will know what to delete.

Please make sure when u have setup Window somtime u not creat a partition for your HDD so it seem it lost.
For Recover your hard disk space in Window please try with program Partition Magic is it a powerfull program can make u recover your space.
On other way you can re-install window and create partition agian.

Usually Movies take a lot of space,
All you can do is to check your folders, such as My Documents, and all its subfolders.

first click your start box then go to accessories then system tools click disk derangement. When that's finished do it again except go to disk cleanup. remember this may take awhile so be patient

because u installed lots of softwares, your HD has only 1 gb left.. u can find it out by..
Click start>control panel>add/remove programs
delete unecessary software so that you can make ur pc run faster

go into my computer and click on c drive and open it up. you should be able to see what you have on your hard drive. it there is stuff you don't want anymore you can delete it being careful not to delete the important stuff
