They change they don't fade

Yes and No.
For women it's supposed to be a horrible experience. That's why they have all those high tech skins creams and say things like,"Don't just fight aging, defy it!!!" or "I use Loreal, cuz I'm worth it."

But guys don't care, because it just adds character to them.

I don't think it's has to be sad, it's a part of the whole cycle of life. I think its sad that ill health seems to accompany aging. Perhaps there is a connection. Things that make you go "Hmm........"

For others, it is how you look at it. Some don't see how they or others have aged. You can be physically young, but born with an "old soul". The elderly may be physically old, but they are in their "glorious golden years".

I still think it's a good thing that there are folks that fight or try to reduce the effects of aging.

That all depends on your view on life. As the "Baby Boomers" are getting on up there in age there does not seem to be such a "worship" of youth as there used to be. I am 44 and do wish I had the body I had when I was 16 but I don't really think I am ugly either. I personally think that men get sexier as they age. Something about that salt and pepper look that really does it for me. Maybe it is because I am older. I think Sean Connery is about the sexiest man on the planet. It also depends on the older person. I think if you hate how you look because things are not where they used to be and your hair is changing colors it comes out in your general attitude about life. There are however some very beautiful people who are grey headed. Their inner beauty seems to carry to their outer appearance as well. As long as you take care of yourself and have a healthy lifestyle your looks change but I don't think your beauty fades. Sometimes it actually gets better.

I don't think that looks fade. As the age changes the idea of beauty is different. Right now we may not see the beauty in a 90 year old man, while an 80 year old woman may.

You didn't mention (or notice?) that some age better or differently than others. Every time I tell people my age, they say, "what's your secret?" My secret is this:
I've never smoked, drank very little early in life-- but not in the last 20 years, I've taken multi-vitamins and supplements for many years, eaten a lot of fruits and vegetables, nuts & seeds, and good lean meats...I could go on, but I think you get the idea: You are what you eat and think about every day...anger, evil thoughts, hate...all show up on a person's face. I also pray everyday and talk to God. This is for all young people who wish to remain youthful

Beauty is skin deep
Ugly to the bone
When Beauty fades away
Ugly holds it's own.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Inner beauty shines through but of course everyone would like to be drop dead gorgeous, that's life and unfortunately we do lose our looks, drat!

I'm glad that I was blessed with a good brain because my looks have faded and I can still make it in the big, bad world. If I had looks alone I'd be SOL by now!

No, it's just nature. What is sad is when older people get plastic surgery to try and look younger, especially the celebrities. Some of them look scary.

I guess I don't think of looks like they fade. I see it like them turning into a badge of courage. It's like look at me I made it this long. Looks are paet of our life the rough times, good times, sad times, happy times. We have earned them all.

No its necessary because as we age we generally get wiser and more assertive so if we were all smart, ballsy and hot, too, we'd be a danger to ourselves and others!
