music is what is created by intentional percussive sound, and intentional pitches made by various instruments, which can include the human voice (vocal chords vibrate just like guitar strings, so they count as an instrument in my mind) to convey any type of attitude, feeling, or atmosphere.

at least thats how i'd describe it. i didnt look it up, but i'd have to say that would cover it in my book.

This word, music, comes from Middle English: old French via Latin from Greek, based on expression(s) that mean 'art from the muses'.

It can mean the science or art of combining vocal and/or instrumental sounds to produce beauty of harmony, form or emotional expression. It can also mean the written or printed signs of those musical expressions.

To me, music's essence is organized sound that is pleasant and thought provoking.
