If you're going to give the Sims 2 to someone that young, it's fine, as long as they understand sex and pregnancy. They do have sex in that game, but they are completely under the covers. On top of that, the NOTHING that you're seeing is blurred out. So as long as they understand what they're doing, it should be fine. Sims 1 is probably more appropriate, but MUCH less fun.

a) Yes, the game are perfectly fine for children of any age.
b) There is a bit more physical interaction among the sims, but everything is blurred out or hidden under the covers. Also, the sims have to take showers or baths in order to stay clean and be happy, just like real people, but their bodies are censored during these acts to keep everything age appropriate.

It's not bad at all. There's no difference. My little sis is 9 about to turn 10 and she loves to play Sims 2.

Sims 1 is more appropriate. In sims 2 the sims get to "woo hoo" in bed or a jacuuzee (srry bad spelling). Sims 1 is Ok, if u don't consider making out bad...

The game is rated T (Teen). The only thing I would think is inappropriate for children is the woo-hoo function, like everyone else has mentioned. The act may be blurred out, but I know it would still make some parents squeamish to think about their kids seeing it. It's really up to you as a parent to decide what's appropriate.

Well, there is cheats to remove the censor bar, however the cheat in later versions dont work, using boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true allows you to remove them. So i would reccomend 13+ just like the ESRB Rating says.
