I never had a clear destination of what I wanted to be. Even as a kid, I never said I want to be such and such when I grow up. Is this normal? I had everyone telling me what they wanted me to be and suggesting. When will I know that I am on the right path for me?

I am attending college. I have a 3.9 gpa. I started college when I was 31. 1 year to go for Health Care Administration. I am good with computers, I am good with people. It just does not seem like my calling. Maybe, I have bigger dreams that started later in life. I want to make a difference with my knowledge and I don't know how.

I was self-employed most of my life, and business flopped.
I didn't know where to turn at that time and I was 45, I started with my college, they have this test, all sorts of questions but once answered it gives you an idea in which field you'd be best suited for. My results really surprised me, it came back that i'd be good in law and I truly think they were right, I had never thought that law would interest me. Since your in school why not ask if there is such a test in your area.

Some people just know what they want to do in life; they've always had a passion for their choice. Some of just didn't have a clue. I'm a few years away from retirement and tell folks that I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but it's been fun trying to figure it out. I have had several careers. The important factor was that I continued taking courses to "feel out" my interests.

If you feel continually pulled to an area of interest, that may be your passion. If you don't have the skills to work in that field, go back to school. It's never too late. Colleges have no time limit for you to finish learning something that interests you.

Good luck on your journey!!

It is absolutely normal not to have a career picked out. With all of the things in the world for you to do, it takes time and soul searching before you can just narrow it down to one. If you want to get started in the right direction, just brain storm. Think about what you would like to do even if you were not paid. Your answer will at least get you started in the right direction.

Research all types of careers. The best decision is an informed one. Also, what do you like to do in your spare time? Maybe you can turn that into a career. Even if all you like is playing a sport or instrument, you can be a coach. If you like to gossip, you can be an advice columnist. The list goes on and on. No matter what you like to do, there is probably a career that will pay you to do it. Good luck.

Totally normal. Just start looking at all kinds of options.........don't limit yourself. The WORLD is open to you with so many possibilities. Look at what you would find interesting and challenging. When you start feeling excitement and passion for something, you'll know you are on the right path for you. Best wishes! :)

Maybe you need to do some travelling, take some time off, find out what you like and refresh your mind so when you come back you may havea better idea.

Don't worry too much alot of people don't know what they want to do..but sometimes they find it on a path where they least expect to find it...

This just means that you had (have) no dreams, no destination, and no goals. Classic definition of a bum!!

(hey society needs those too...)
