back then they used a resister to give you more than one speed option............check with the original parts group.......almost all gm. cars used the same system.........if over time someone removed the resister & your running direct voltage....it will burn your blower motor out.

hey,, are you refering to the blower for the heater?? are you switching between heat and defrost when this happens? may be the cable isnt going far enough to the selected position, or bad fuse,fuse block,bad wire to the blower motor! many options! maybe the switch itself!! log on to twoguysgarage.com and you can post the question there!! if you are driving that car in bad weather,,shame on you!! from an old vehicle guy!! good luck!!old parts are available for them in southern states mostley!!could possibly just really dirty contacts, mine was!!

nice car!it could be your getting a bad blower or you got a short somewhere.try running a new wire,and see if that fixes it.
