Is it a little red X? Are you using IE7 (Internet Explorer 7)? I had this problem on some sites that didn't support the new IE format. Because running both IE6 and IE7 doesn't work very well, I solved it by downloading Netscpe and accessing the site that way. If that isn't the problem, then there is another reason why the applet isn't loading. Try the following site for more information.

Hope this helps!

Same thing happened to me. It has nothing to do with IE7 although I had IE7 when it happened I have since removed it from my computer and am now using IE5 again. Besides yahoo incourages you to load IE7. I have reloaded java also. From what I am understanding yahoo is having a problem with anything but Java Machine which of course you cannot get now. I can still get onto the gin tables but the spades are just not working for me. I know they are still working for many people because they seem to be on there I just can't talk to any of them to find out what software they are using.

you probably updated something, like the browser or a patch for your OS...

you'd have to reinstall the JAVA plugin...
