Below are the Rules when it comes to the Football...

The home club shall have 36 balls for outdoor games and 24 for indoor games available for testing with a pressure gauge by the referee two hours prior to the starting time of the game to meet with League requirements. Twelve (12) new footballs, sealed in a special box and shipped by the manufacturer, will be opened in the officials’ locker room two hours prior to the starting time of the game. These balls are to be specially marked with the letter "k" and used exclusively for the kicking game.

Throwing Football into Stands for the 1st offense is $2,500.....
The second offense is $5,000....

If you throw a ball into the stands at any point, its a $1500 fine, but that doesn't mean a whole lot to people making $50,000 a game. Reggie Bush and Vince Young have both been fined this year, they said so on ESPN. But the fine is so small, and the occurences are so many, its not publicized.

of course he gets fined, all the time there is a policy by the nfl stating that there will be a fine in any case a player throws the football to the stands, i guarantee that

I believe there is a Fine. Possibly the price of the football, but there might be some more attached to the price, due to the fact that he threw it up at the audience.

They can dance like they are at some club after catching the ball. They can beat their chests like they are Tarzan after a tackle. If they throw the ball into the stands, will they be fined? Hmmmm-intersting question.

yes and no,it depends on the circumstances,i know either way the team or player that does this is assessed a penalty, which follows after the kick off,
