To all answerers on this question. The above question is in reference to the news in the paper about a recent film by Vinod Pande (controversial director) who has his film released with nude scenes in the film. (i guess)

What I want to inform you gudiya is that people in the country are getting more bolder in their viewership rights. Directors do not realise that in a country like India, where law enforcement is not strict and anyone can buy anything easily, such movies will be easily circulated for below 18 crowds at a huge fee! There will be more piracy and more to loose for the director. Vinod Pande is insane anyways, so he will get what he deserves. His last movie a depiction of a Catholic Priest who breaks his celibacy vows (SINS) went down poorly with the masses, so he is doing his best to come out of the financial doldrums he is now! Hence this move! The censor board is a puppet. It can't stop movies and has no discretion which ones to stop and which ones to clear! Throw money at them and they will pass everything. Permissiveness in Indian society is on the increase. If you want to know more, check out the latest edition of the Outlook magazine.

What's wrong with a nude film? I don't know what film you're talking about but I don't believe that non-sexual nudity should need to be censored at all. At most, give it a nudity rating so that those who don't want to see nudity can choose not to watch it. But is seeing a nude body really that offensive or concerning, I mean a nude male looks the same as half of the population, a nude female looks the same as the other half of the population. I don't understand what the fuss is about.

It's not a censor board, it's a ratings board. They rate pictures according to content.

I don't know! I don't know where you're from (I've seen some other countries on here) but to me the beauty of America is freedom of speech! I think they shouldn't restrict what we can see in a theatre; just tell us what it is and let US decide!

The aren't supposed to necessarily stop those films. They are only to place the age restiction rating on them so that, ostensively, those under 18 cannot view them.

Maybe they are not authorised to do so. OR maybe even they like to watch them. God only knows.
