You should know that you want to go into or stay in business of some sort, and have ambitions for jobs which are not available to you with a bachelor's degree (it probably isn't right for you if you want to stay in a pure sales position for the rest of your career, for example). Also, if you know which industry you want to work in, make sure they respect the MBA. Some just don't, and the degree may not help you there.

With the MBA, you should have some new business skills and a broader knowledge of the business world. Equally important, however, is that you have shown employers a willingness to go beyond what is required. Good MBA programs also provide a lot of opportunities for networking, which is often almost as important as what you might learn in the program.

If you go to a top 15 MBA program, you can expect a 50-100% increase in pay when you finish -- and you can enter a new field.

If you go to a ranked school not in the top 15, you can expect a reasonable pay increase and get help finding a new job.

If you go to a school that is not ranked, you might be able to get ahead in the company where you now work -- but won't get much of a pay increase going elsewhere & won't get much help finding a new job.
