I just started a small band, and I'm trying to write us some songs. What do you think of these lyrics.

Loved and Lost
Serious Thought

I should have saw
It in her eyes
Without warning
She started to cry
I tried to get near her
To calm her down
She gave me the cold shoulder
And turned around

Who said it's better
To have loved and lost
I wish I had never
Loved at all
There's a hole in my heart
Feels like it can never be filled
I can't take the pain
I might as well be killed

A few days past
No word from her
I passed her in the halls
And she started to stir
I tried to talk to her
But she ran away
From that day on
She never came my way

Who said it's better
To have loved and lost
I wish I had never
Loved at all
There's a hole in my heart
Feels like it can never be filled
I can't take the pain
I might as well be killed

Her eyes
Were brightest of all the colors
She was unlike any other
I never want to love another

Who said it's better
To have loved and lost
I wish I had never
Loved at all
Who said it's better
(Who said it's better)
To have loved and lost
(To have loved and lost)
I wish I has never
(I wish I has never)
loved at all
(loved at all)
There's a hole in my heart
Feels like it can never be filled
I can't take the pain
I might as well be killed
(I might as well be killed)

I like them...they are very real and I'm sure the listeners can relate to them which improves the overall song. When I write, I always try to avoid cliche terms like heart, love etc because they are often over used. But in sum, the lyrics are good.
