He said he still loved me right after we broke up. I don't know if that means anything. Other strange things have happend. Either he tries to be friends with me and then I avoid him. Or I'm trying to be friends with him and he avoids me. Is there any way to tell if he's still intrested?

Many men say 'I Love You' after a breakup. This helps them emotionally in easing their guilt of having to break up. Plus, it is leaving the door open just in case any new involvements don't work out. I love you is different than saying 'I'm in love' with you.'
Someone else will come into your life. Don't block or tie up or waste your emotions wondering if you will be getting back together. Go on about your life. Some day you will look back and wonder what you ever saw in him.
There is an old proverb I once read, "Never search for love, for if love finds you worthy, it will find you".

sounds like he is playing games with you as soon as you let him back in he may dump you again just move on.
