I have Trend Micro Antivirus, Spy Sweeper & Ad Aware. I also got a virus today and ran a check on everything. Does that mean I am safe? Sorry 2 questions. Thanks

LOL Stay away from wherever you got that virus! And Trend Micro Antivirus...if you're happy that's cool. I couldn't get it out of my system easily when I decided I didn't like it.

You might also want to try, besides Ad Adware, SpyBot. Lots of good revues. And AVG, take a look at it. That Spy Sweeper is supposed to be "the cat's meow!"

more info than you need - if you have any problems you may want to run that antivirus while in safe mode. Oh, and set up a System Restore date when you are totally happy with your system (a date you can come back to to make you happy with your computer settings if they get wacked out).

And like the guy above said, get a firewall! - free Zone Alarm is a good one. :-) Good surfin'

You can never be %100 safe but you are close.

I would also make sure you have your updates to your virus programs running automatically. The default is usually something like once a week, I would set it to about once a day.

Also, be sure you are using a Firewall. You can either use the Default Windows Firewall in XP or if you have Broadband(Cable/Dsl) you can purchase a Firewall Router that also has this capability.

this is what i would suggest
go to start..control panel..folder options....view...halfway down...u need to CHECK SHOW ALL HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS..press apply..press ok
now go to start..run..type in ...prefetch..press enter
in new windows..go to edit in top left corner..select all..press delete
delete all
start..run..type in ...%temp%..do same thing...delete all
if u get error..just delete what u can...and move on
start run..type in...temp..do samew thing..delete all..if u get error
delete what u can and move on
now go to start..all programs..accessories..system tools..disc clean up
it will ananlyze c drive..when it is finished...u will have the option to check some boxes...check them all..press ok...it will disappear when it is finished
now open trend micro...run full system scan..remove what it finds
open spysweeper..run full scan..remove what it finds
same with ad-aware..full scan..remove what it finds
go back to start..control panel..folder options..view..reset to default..press apply..press ok
u should be clean now
