Understand what positive is first. Establish a goal and go for it in a positive way means understanding the realities involved and being able to determine what you must do to reach that goal. Knowing how to recover from your mistakes and continue on and learning so as to avoid those mistakes and also learning how to use that power of positive thinking within to overcome the other obstacles both from within and from without.and then learning how to live with that goal once you have achieved it.

Everytime something bad happens don't get upset look at why is happen and how to better prevent it next time. Learn from the mistake.

Open yourself up to new things, be around positive people. Fill your head with positive ideas. Read modivational books.

Think that the glass is ALWAYS half full!!

I've found altruism in the form of community service work helps. If you like animals, try volunteering at the local animal shelter walking dogs. You can visit random people in a nursing home. There are little things everywhere that can make you feel better about yourself...things that make you feel like you can make a difference. Once you feel better about yourself, you tend to look at the world with a more positive perspective.

Completely psych yourself out. Everytime you think something negative, combat it with all that was positive or could be more positive. Doing this consistently will eventually become your habit and you won't even need to contest the negative.
