So dont you find it annoying when people you meet say they like AFI and all they know is their Decemberunderground stuff (or just Miss Murder and Love Like Winter...) Its reaaaaaaaaaaaally bugging me... coz they seriously know NOTHING about them cept that "Miss Murder is a good song..."
GOSH!! AFI..one of the best bands ever and now people only notice them because of their mainstream-ness.
I found AFI through Miss Murder but at least i do a bit of research before saying I like them.

Yeah it gets annoying.
But you were young once. That's what happens when people discover new bands or things. I think they'll just get over that phase of "I love Miss Murder!!! Go AFI!!!" and then move on and be more mature about it. They're just discovering AFI and you should be glad that they like them and not hate them. Hopefully they'll know there's more to AFI than Decemberunderground.
Actually, I've met alot of now-obssessed AFI fans that got sucked into AFI because of Miss Murder. They learnt about AFI's history, they know all the quotes, they're making their way back to Early AFI and they're planning on joining the DF. That to me is a good thing.
The only thing that I don't like is when they embarrass AFI fans by doing something that comes off as poseur-ish or just too much fangirly things. It's an embarrassment.

i liked them when i heard there new album decemberunderground, but then i got to like them a lot more, i just haven't heard their new album i have listen to their older songs. also i have research them and got a lot of info about them and i think it is amazing how far they've came, 15 years in the making and they still look young and handsome especially Davey Havok. so after reading this do you think I'm a true fan of AFireInside.

I haven't heard too much off AFI because I kinda don't like them.
But I know what you're dealing with. My favorite band (Children of Bodom) released four CDs of melodic metal and then with their fifth CD they went all numetal and it sucks. But there are a lot of dumb kids who have only heard the new CD say they like them and if bugs me.

who cares about their background.. Most people don't have time for that crap. You like what you like.
Have you heard their "my michelle" cover! It's awesome.

yep....i've been a fan for 10 years. i've just learned to appreciate that they like the band (just like me) and get over it...
