It will replace the system files altered by the trojan, and will make your pc usable, but you will have to yet do scanning and removal of the trojan
Here is a trial version which allows you to remove trojan, give it a try

You on the Internet now? IF, you know the name do a search and find how to manually remove. The link below has a search on right and if it have that Trojan, they tell you a manual remove. I try to think how you can locate the Trojan. You may try Ctrl+Alt+Del and use "End Task" to stop everything running that you not know. Leave; Explorer and Systray Running. You may be able then to start Windows Explorer or Fire Fox whatever you use and get on-line.

Safe mode.....
On boot press f8 when you see "starting windows". This will disable the torgan and stop it from doing damage....
You should be able to go to the internet in safemode, even if you can't at regular startup. Update you virus definitions and scan with your AV. It should remove it, else to to symantec.com, with your virus name and they will have a removal tool to remove it. Or maybe if it is harmless some manuall removal instructions....

Run your antivirus (that is hopefully uptodate) in Safe Mode. Then run it again in the regular mode.
