Well, nothing can be done ( like a new law ) overnight to stop criminals from entering politics. We (people) don't have the rights to do that.

But, we have rights to do one thing through which we can slowly avoid criminals coming to politics - that is the right to vote!!!!

Yes, if all citizens of India decide that we will not vote for any party that as criminals in it then one by one slowly we can avoid them.

The only reason why criminals join politics is to come to power or be a part of the party in power, so that they can delay the criminal proceedings aganist them. If we take this step then the political parties also as to do that. Isn't it?

Besides the background requirements, remove mud slinging. Mud Slinging = thrown out of the race. Base the vote on who is qualified, not who the media or opposition says. I sort of disagree with the higher education requirement. Yes, there should be a basis that the person knows what they're talking about, but really, common sense is the key to a good candidate.

Well I think extensive backround checks would be a good start. Of corse some don't become crimals until they are in office. Maybe a commette to watch and check where the money is coming from and where it is going. It's to bad we even have to think about that. Says something about our country dosen't it.
