I left my Bio notes and book at school...yeah I'm an idiot. Trying to Google this stuff, but yeah it doesn't give very good answers.

G2 is the last part of Interphase. G1, S, G2.

The chromatin was already copied in S (synthesis).
G2 mostly is for extra growth, adding more cytoplasm, proteins, and extra organelles in preparation for cell division. The cell also double-checks the replicated DNA to make sure it's been copied correctly.
