My 2 1/2 year old was just approved to get benefits. What can the money be used for? What's the rules concerning this? Like can we buy him a bed, tv etc.. Or does it just have to be food, diapers etc?? Anyone know? Serious answers only please.

Here's a link to the Social Security Administration's website for Supplemental Security Income. You should be able to find answers for all of your questions here.

Good luck!

go to www.socialsecurity.com or .org or .gov?
They will tell you there for sure. But yes it is a check to insure the child's welfare, clothing, bed, linens, things like that. You should have a medical card too. But if you don't you may buy medicine with it, and pay for babysitter or nurse, but you must notify them before hiring anyone of that nature for they provide a list I believe of respite workers as well. Check out the site it is your best bet?
