Peyton Manning

I don't think either is overrated. Cal Ripken is a two-time AL MVP, and was the best player on the 1983 World Championship Orioles. He had over 3000 hits, and it's safe to say that he never took steroids, if he did, his stats would have been off the charts. As it is, he was great, and should be in the Hall of Fame.

Peyton Manning is a great player who will re-write the record book. He won the game for the Colts today, what more do you want. What is it that compelled you to pick these two players?

I don't think either are overrated. Cal Ripken Jr. was a first ballot HOF, so I think that established him as being a solid player. He is in the 3000 hit/400 home run club which a very select company, I think you can count one one hand are in. Peyton just helped his resume by making it to the Super Bowl. If he wins it, that will help his chances in being called the best quarterback ever. He probably has established himself as the best regular season quarterback already. He will shatter all of the records.

If you are going to make a question, why not say, who is better, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady?

Could you enlighten us on what criteria you could possibly use to consider either of these players overrated??

Maybe you're basing your judgement on how well they throw darts or play lacrosse.....or on how well they cook, or something I have no knowledge about.

If you're referring to performances as professional athletes in their respective sports , you clearly are seeking attention like a spoiled child acting out.

Both men have stats to back up every superlative ever spoken about them. Can you even conceive the notion of not missing a day of work EVER for any reason over a 16 year span?

Cal has stats that have become the standard for modern shortstops, & are miles beyond average as someone else said without backing up the opinion.

Since you brought him up.....Cal has also been the most fan friendly professional athlete of the last 30 years if not alltime.

I'll let someone else defend Manning, tho you're equally misguided about him.

Next time you can ask if water or oxygen is more overrated!!

Peyton Manning because he is a more well known athletic today than Cal Ripken is in todays society.

I would have to say ripken. He never put up any big numbers. He was a good player, and hard working. But I never thought he was great where you could build a franchise around him.

Unless the Colts win the SB, I'd say Manning.

neither is or was overrated. maybe they haven't won big but, how can you be overrated when you do it year in and year out. regardless of what the team around you is like?? production is not over rated to me at all..
