Since the Redskins aren't playing, I'm having a hard time caring about the Superbowl at all, let alone who the coaches are.
I guess that to the extent that there are racists out there who claim that "the blacks" don't have the skills to be top coaches, this will put another nail in the coffin of their stupid ideas.
I suppose it's a good thing that so many people don't care about it. There was a time when America needed to note such milestones to combat the aggressive racism of the type so evident on Yahoo Answers ("the blacks" can't do this or that). But most Americans have moved on and reject all that racial determinism crap.

I'm glad to see that two very good coaches got their teams to the SuperBowl.
The fact that the media even mentions race shows how shallow, poorly informed, and ill-mannered those folks are. It's almost as irritating as the reporter at a disaster or accident site, asking a victim, "How do you feel?"

It's cool but I didn't care either way, I really wanted the Saints to go to the Super Bowl.
P.S.
Once there's a Black owner, then I'll care.

It is neither pertinent nor germane to the game itself, which should be the prime concern. That's like acting astonished that a Black lad is selling popcorn in the stands. Who cares?

It really doesn't matter who coaches the teams and their race. But we as Americans use race and gender as an issue, though we should look at the individuals, before we look at the race and gender.
The NFL has had in the past an under-representation of various races in management positions and ths is just another way of showing future improvement in our equal to semi-equal opportunities provided US citizens.
Affirmative Action at work causes discrimination as well as creates greater opportunities. Hopefully, we as individuals look at the accomplishments of the coaches first and their race second!
But, it does not make me sick! It makes me proud see that various individuals get the opportunity to promote themselves, as well as their race to higher accomplishments!

It gets irritating. Even Tony Dungy mentioned it.
