During a championship for professional sports, the winner immediately receives a hat proclaiming them the champions. That means they must have them made for both teams. What happen to the losing teams hats/shirts and is it possible to buy those losing team ones?

The shirts and hats for the losing teams are actually donated to the poor overseas. SI ran pictures a few years back of dirt poor Africans wearing Buffalo Bills super Bowl Champs shirts. It was sadly hilarious

Good luck finding them, I'm guessing they will go cheap. I have never seen any of those losing team's shirts worn by anyone before. But they HAVE to exist. Maybe they are destroyed. I would sell them for $1 each or give them to homeless shelters as a tax writeoff.

I have heard that the incorrect ones *losing team* hats and t-shirts are actually given to needy charities *like the homeless*. They need the clothes badly and I don't think they'll care if the clothes aren't accurate.

well if you live in foxboro go down to your nearest salvation army and stand with the homeless and orphans and they'll hand them out to you..... thats actually what they do with all the worthless merchandise they make before the outcome of the actual game

The merchandise is set to be destroyed very quickly after the game is over, so unless you have an "inside" connection, it is highly unlikely.

If you go down to the local homeless shelter you will see folks wearing them.
Thats where they go.
