If you are intending to learn the guitar, you should not buy a twelve string. This would make learning very difficult. You should by a six string nylon acoustic, the strings are easier to hold down, and farther apart. If after sometime your still interested, you could buy a twelve string, but I would still recommend a steel six string, as this would be the next difficulty level. Good luck.

12-strings have a much fuller sound and sound better overall, but they are for someone that is an experienced guitar player. For someone that is just learning, you should stick with a 6-string guitar so that you can learn the basics. Once you do that and get some experience, you can always move on to the 12-string. Good luck!

The 12 is definately a better sounding instrument. But if you're just learning, I'd stick with the 6 for now. Get used to it and to just playing first. Then you can move on to better things later when you become more proficient. Good Luck.
