Sometimes it's hard for people who are good at something to understand what it must be like to struggle with the thing they find so easy. If you can't spell because you are too lazy to learn that's one thing, but if it's truly hard for you, there's no reason to tease you or pick on you. It must be human nature to pick on others because there sure are a lot of folks who do it - to complete strangers yet.

Because it allows them to feel superior to everyone else.

Yes, anyone can click on spell checking. But you still have to be able to pick the correct word from that list. If English isn't your first language, for example, then check spelling still won't help you.

Even if you have no spelling errors in a question or an answer, you could still be using any given work incorrectly. That's because any spell check utility can only check that the word that has been used is correctly spelled, but it can't check that the word itself is the correct one.

Spelling and grammar errors could also be the result of a poor education, of leaving school very early, or of any number of learning disabilities.

I don't pick on people who spell poorly, but it is annoying to try and read something that can't be read because it's barely in English. I think a lot of people who have an above average command of the English language get frustrated with people who don't.

They feel the need to do it to combat their inferiority complex, they can't stand the fact that someone is better than them in real life, and they can only resort to insulting people's spelling and grammer, at the end of the day, this is the internet, not an English test.

It is easy to be considered less educated if a person does not use proper spelling or grammar. It shows a lack of concern and effort.

P.S. It's "people that can't spell that well?"

People who are insecure in themselves often zero in on the failings or shortcomings of others to make themselves feel important, smart or better.

The real truth is that everyone has something to offer our world, and even the brightest students can learn from those who are more academically challenged.

Don't let someone make you feel bad if you aren't the best speller!! You have the power to choose how you react to being teased. Don't give up your power!!

Here's a qoute to think about and maybe say to those rude people."You can not judge any man beyond your knowledge of him,and how small is your knowledge." It would be nice if people could stop using others to cover up or disract from ,their own faults and/or insecurities.Maybe then we would have less war and conflict in this world.Sorry to hear it happen.Good Luck.
