Swinging places for expats that have a level of conversation above the average Japanese bar?

I have many friends who are ex-pats and they hang out at clubs like 911 or Muse in Nishi-Azabu.
But they are all late 20 somethings to early 30 somethings.
They are still on that "let's party hard like back in college" vibe so not too many converations going on besides "Hey where's our waitress?" and "Shots anyone?".

The best place to meet expats that are older and not in the party hearty stage of life anymore is through you kid's schools. Through my son's at ASIJ and Yoyohi Intl School, I have meet a load of other expat moms and dads. A bunch of the dad's get together on weekends and play flag football at the ASIJ. It aslo becomes a great network for future career opportunities.

If you have financial backing from your company, join the Tokyo American Club. You can meet all kinds of expats there. Even some Japanese celebs go there for privacy, because the average expat cannot recognize a Japanese celeb. And when we do, we always just give them their space.

Try the Press Club or the American Club, although you need to become members for both.
