degrees outside today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be?

Tek,with 32' being freezing,and twice as cold that would be -32'.

Unless that was said by some mindless TV weather reader in which case it means nothing anyway I could take a guess. My guess is that they are saying that is some number of degrees below normal for today and that tomorrow it is going to be twice as many days below normal. SO it today is 0 and it is usually 20 degrees that is 20 below normal today and tomorrow ill be 40 below normal which comes out to be -20.

And as I said if it was just a time-filling remark by the weather "expert" on the evening news followed by a giggle from the anchor person then it is not even worth figuring out.
