Forget calling in sick...you'll waste your sick days. Wait until it's a great day to be off. Besides, it's the beginning of the year you don't want to use all your sick days before you are really sick or you also might jinx yourself by calling in sick and then you get really sick later.

I'm sick and throwing up, my car won't start , I have a flat tire. I got arrested and I'm calling from jail. My water broke and I'm going into labor. A relative close to me died. I have to go to court. I lost my car keys. I'm stuck in a blizzard and can't get out of my driveway. MOnday??? I thought it was Sunday, oops my bad. My dog ran away, my kid was sick and I was up all night with him, I have a doctor's appointment, I have a dentist's appointment. My psychiatrist needs me to come in and get my medication today

I think the stomach virus is the safest way to go because no one will know if you really did or not because that usually goes away in 24 hours. just say you think you ate something that made your stomach really messed up. tell stories that you were throwing up every where.

Stomach flu, no one wants you around sh***ing your pants or throwing up...yuck! Good luck.
Tell them you got locked out of your car
There is a huge fire in your neighborhood and the engines have the street blocked off
A car accident and you have to get check out at the hospital or went to the hospital but didn't get home till 5am

Don't if you value your job. I'm in Human Resources... and managers talk to me about how their employees call in with lame excuses. They can tell. They figure that if an employee will lie to them about one thing, they will lie about other things.
