Those are ear-bud monitors. They are a good alternative to the heavy floor monitors of the past, however are not cheap. Expect to pay a healthy price for a set with the amplifier. It's called an "In-ear monitor system" , they came out a few years back and the initial idea was to try and come up with an alternative to the wedge shaped floor monitors you commonly see at the front of a stage. Some people like them , others not so much, personally - i like standard floor monitors , gives me something to put my foot up on when i play. You can probably find them at any larger music retail store outlet, or maybe at musiciansfriend.com

I dont know if you're thinking of the microphone, or earplugs. They have them custom made for them.
