I have tried everyone out there - now using VISTA. The age of your computer will not be bothered by the new system. For what it's worth, you won't find much difference with the Professional.

One avenue would be the Microsoft website. www.microsoft.com They will have the best answers to your request and will provide you with professional guidance as to wether your computer can handle an upgrade. Right now they are in the process of releasing the new "Vista" os and many new machines are available with the latest updates. XP will be around for years to come and updates are easy to get from the source.

you can reinstall XP home if you want to. But there is no significant differences between xp home and xp pro unless you are aware of any such.

No idea., depends what its for. If you dont have any important stuff on it then go for it, if you do then i wouldnt recommend it unless if you take it to a professional computer tech.
