When you think about it logically, it's quite easy to hurt a kitten. So much so that it's grossly unfair and unseemly to hurt a kitten.
On the other hand, many people don't like cats. They aren't as friendly as dogs, for example, they aren't as compliant or trainable and they can scratch. But hurt them?
Probably you were hurt early in your life. Either emotionally or physically, and unconsciously you probably would like to strike back. Since you probably can't strike back at the people who hurt you, you hold it in and the anger doesn't go away. A weak person would give in the urge to hurt something else, like a little kitty. But it's a horrible thing to do, just don't do it. If you did, you'd discover that not only will it not satisfy your anger, but it will add guilt to your burdens.

Not liking kittens is one thing, but your "sudden urges to hurt them" is definately not. Actually, most serial killers started out by torturing and killing animals, such as kittens. You need to try and figure out where your anger is coming from and learn to control it or vent it in other ways. Try talking with someone you can trust about this.

I'm the guy who gave thumbs up to the guy who said he likes cats extra crispy.
On a side note, it's not normal not to like kittens. Cats are another story. A lot of those guys are jerks.

Many people adore kittens and cats--and many people hate the sight of them. Most, however, do not want to hurt them, or any animal that can be considered a pet.

Yes it is normal if you don't like kittens. It is not normal anymore if you do not like them because you are scared of them.
Ailurophobia is a fear a cats.
