This loss throws my predictions off considerably. Last week I correctly predicted that the Bears would defeat the Saints, however I missed my prediction of a Patriots blowout of the Colts by a mile (though the first half was exactly as I predicted it.)

Now you have the Bears' defense vs. Peyton Manning and the Colts. No longer can you predict a Bears win simply based upon dome teams losing the SB. (The 1999 Rams ended that.)

During the first half of the Colts-Patriots game, the Colts tended to throw deep routes down the field, which the Patriot secondary broke up easily. During the Colt's last drive of the 1st half, and throughout the 2nd half, however, the Colts gave up these routes in favor of mid range out patterns, with devestating effect.

Look for the Bear's defense to try to shut down these mid range passes, although in doing so, they are likely to give up a big play or two.

For the Bear's to win this game, Grossman is going to need a big game, because the Colts have found a winning formula of shutting down the run when the opposition cannot pass effectively. Note that the Colts gave up several nice runs against the Patriots during the 1st half.

Really, what this game boils down to though, is which Bears defense shows up at Miami: the one that held the high powered Saints offense to 14 points, or the one that gave up 24 points to the Seahawks and forced Grossman to win the game for them. If the game becomes a shootout, expect the Colts to win, if the Bears defense forces turnovers, expect the Bears to win.

My prediction? Chicago 24 Indianapolis 21

Da Bears.

And considering my recent predictions, including the OSU game, most likely the Colts will win. hahahaha

I'd love to see the Colts win, but my guy tells me Bears. Their defense is good.
