I don't think it really is the instrument...it's the person playing it. I didn't really like the clarinet until i heard a very talented person playing it

all the way,
not only classical crap
but in rock like Something Corporate, Jacks Mannequin, dresden dolls, Evanescense, or any other kind of music,
i play that kind all the time, and again, HATE CLASSICAL.......
plus, its EASY to get sheetmusic for songs, or its easy to translate your own.
so in MY opinion, Piano.

The voice.... it's portable and easy to tune.
Nah... actually the piano because it's the most versatile, and you can use it for just about any type of music.
